I just inherited my Grandmother's collection of postcards...what should I do with them?

Many times, our collectors were not the original collectors of the collectible.  It was the hobby of someone they loved, who deep in their heart knew that they would be the right person to give their hard earned collection to.  We get calls every week from collectors like this, whether its postcards, stamps, coins...whatever it might be.  And they ask how they can best store and admire this collection because it brings back such great memories for them.  So really at the start, in the case of postcards, its a simple series of questions like:
  • How many postcards did they have?
  • Are they vintage (pre-1940) or newer postcards?
  • Do you want to be able to see both sides of the postcards when stored?
  • Would you prefer to store them in a case or in an album?
  • If an album, how many postcards do you want to see on one page?
  • And most importantly, are you going to continue to collect more postcards in the future?
These questions are very specific to the collector which I would never attempt to answer here in this blog.  If you find yourself in this situation, please call us at 877-395-7233 and I will personally be able to help you find the right storage solution for your treasured collection.
